Transportation to and from Stockholm
For first-time visitors to Stockholm, you may find information about
transportation between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and central Stockholm
useful.
www.arlanda.se/en/Information--services-to/Traveller-information/Get-to-and-from-the-airport/.
If you choose a taxi, please note that you should not pay more than
about SEK 500 for the trip to central Stockholm (always ask the driver
for a set price before you enter the taxi). Also, a tip is not required
though you might consider a tip of around SEK 20-50. The high-speed
Arlanda Express train provides the fastest transportation to the city
center.

Eating
For lunches, there is first of all the restaurant in the house http://www.restaurangmynchen.se/ with very good food and reasonable prices.
Folkbaren, , Mariatorget: A bar/bistro nearby that also serve lunch, a bit more expensive but still reasonable prices.
Hotel Rival, www.rival.se, Mariatorget. This place has a Bistro, a Bar and a Café: It is a bit more expensive but not as expensive as Bistro Sud (see below). The Bistro is perhaps more suitable for dinner or a more luxurious lunch.
Bistro Sud, www.bistrosud.com, Mariatorget almost: This is a very nice but expensive restaurant in Stockholm. The place is though very nice and friendly and not at all posh and the food is excellent.
Close to Mariatorget is also: Sjögräs, www.sjogras.com, a great dinner restaurant, and Akkurat, www.akkurat.se, most famous for their variety of bear and whiskey.
A bit further away when perhaps going out for dinner is: Il Tempo, www.iltempo.se, a great Italian restaurant at Högbergsgatan, Imperiet, www.restaurangimperiet.se, simply a very nice place with good food and Himlen Därtill, www.restauranghimlen.se, Don't miss the skybar!
Talking about skybars there is also Gondolen, www.eriks.se, also with a very nice skybar if you don't want to eat as this place as well is a bit expensive.
There are also Kvarnen, www.kvarnen.se and Pelikan, www.pelikan.se, two very popular beer-halls at Södermalm, also with very good food, swedish traditional cooking.
And of course all the bars and restaurants on Götgatan, Ljunggrens, O'learys, Högbergs, Sandys, and Waynes Coffee just to mention a few.
People at Södermalm are also very fond of all the restaurants and bars around Nytorget: Urban Deli, Sonjas Grek, Pet Sound, and Mississippi Inn to mention a few of the restaurants around there.
Hjördis and restaurant Aarts are also very nice places in this direction.
Please talk to the student volunteers for more inside information on the restaurants and pubs at Södermalm!
